My Activity Report for 2010
From: Pro Staff member Jerry Fournier from Roseville, California.
I wanted to give all of you who have supported me this year, with a year end report for 2010. This report is a description of my activities starting in January of 2010.
2010 was a very difficult year considering the state of the economy and the struggles the fishing industry faced.
I started my year out working in January at the International Sportsman’s Expo in Sacramento for five days. I worked one day setting up and the other four days working a booth. I was there working with other pro staff and sales rep Keith Marks sharing with everyone the product lines that Keith handles. The Northern California ISE show in Sacramento, California is the largest most attended outdoor show and event there is in all of Northern California.
My guide service was very slow again this year with a few trips in the spring. Most of the guide trips this year were one on one style outings. I usually focus on corporate trips. I enjoy working with the different sales groups helping them land new clients, or close deals. This year with the budget cuts this avenue of my guide service was slow.
I was asked to put on a couple of seminars during the spring and summer again this year at West Marine in Rocklin. West Marine is a large chain of boating accessories stores with tackle and electronics. I always share my sponsor’s products with all who attend.
I was invited for a full day to help sell and to put on two one hour seminars at Sportsman’s Warehouse in Rocklin California. Sportsman’s Warehouse is one of the largest hunting and fishing retailers in our area. This was an all day event working in their fishing department sharing with the retail public, information on my Sponsors products.
This year I also had an opportunity to work with Sales Rep Keith Marks from Marks Sales at Bass Pro Shops in Manteca, California. There at the big Fishing Sale event we were able to work with the public to help them find and purchase products that we represent.
I also had another opportunity to work with Keith Marks at the big outdoor Sale at Coyote Bait and Tackle in San Jose, California. Keith and I set up booths and displayed products. We help the staff and the owner sell to the public for all those who attended.
This year I was able to fit in almost a two hour class at the School of Bass in Citrus Heights, California. The class was held at C&C Marine a Ranger boat dealer in Northern California. The purpose of the class was to introduce the products I use, and to teach bass fishing to those who fish the waters near by.
I have been working with Bayside Adventure Sports (Bayside Church Granite Bay California). Their fishing program has over 800 members and is growing strong. I have been asked to speak at two of their classes about fishing the California Delta in the spring. This Church has close to thirty thousand members.
I was invited this December by the Vice President of Sales for P Line to come and speak at their very first Open House and fishing show. I will be talking about finesse fishing, and the products I use for the bodies of water here in Northern California.
I have had great success working with and leading our pro staff team this year. We have a good team of pro staff, (four in all) that appreciates the partnership with the companies we represent. We appreciate working with Keith Marks and helping him with representing the product lines that he represents. We will continue to work hard for everyone in 2011. We look forward to being a part of the success of each company.
This month of November I worked again on the Toys for the Troops Kids Charity Bass tournament and Christmas Toy Drive. I spent six months working on the Toys for the Troops Kids Charity. www.toysforthetroopskids.org. This charity is structured to generate Christmas toys for the children whose parents are in our military away from home during Christmas.
I was the promotional director again for the fifth year for this charity’s bass tournament. As a board member for the Christian Bass Anglers Fellowship www.thecbaf.com this event which was held on November 6th 2010 at Russo’s Marina on Bethel Island, California had a greater turn out. Better than expected and better than last year considering the economy. Last year we generated over six hundred toys for the troop’s kids. We generated about the same in toys but the attendance was up. We had the best turn out in attendance than years past. I worked hard to get television coverage, Radio, and news print. I had real good success in getting donations in the form of product and money for this charity.
Finally during the year I also contributed articles to the Bass Anglers Magazine which is published four times a year. I was again fortunate enough to be published four of the four issues in 2010. I also was on the cover of issue three. I have attached a few articles for this 2010 for your review. I enjoy sharing with the readers some of my experience and hope that I can teach our new anglers with the how to approach. I also take advantage of promoting the companies and their products that I have partnered with. This magazine is sold in Barnes and Noble, Borders, Sportsman’s Warehouse, and magazine counters and racks all over the Western and Central United States.
I would like to recommend that you visit my website www.jerryfournier.com to keep in touch with me and all that I am doing during the year. I try to keep my website current for your review. I would also like to invite you to visit my resume which is posted on my website to keep you informed and current with what I am doing for my partners in the fishing industry.
Please contact me if you have any questions as I would be more than happy to visit with you.
