My Activity Report for 2009
I wanted to give you a year end report for 2009 with a description of my activity starting in January of 2009.
As you are aware of 2009 was a pretty good year considering the state of the economy and the struggles the fishing industry faced?
I started my year out working in January at the International Sportsman’s Expo in Sacramento for five days. One day setting up and the other four days working a booth and sharing with everyone the companies I am working with In Northern California the ISE show in Sacramento is the largest most attended outdoor event there is.
During the spring I fished a number of events in Northern California mixing it up between Pro Am events and team events. . My guide service was very slow this year with a few trips in the spring and summer. Most of the guide trips over the last five years have been booked in advance. This year last minute calls seemed to be the norm. I finished 18th place with my team partner in the Western Outdoors News Team tournament of Champions.
I was asked to put on a couple of seminars during the spring and summer at West Marine in Rocklin. I have been working with Bayside Adventure Sports (Bayside Church Granite Bay California). Their fishing program has about 800 members and is growing strong. I have been asked to speak next month (March) about fishing the California Delta in the spring. This Church has close to thirty thousand members.
I also had a couple of invitations Last year to speak at the School of Bass during the summer but had to decline due to schedule conflicts. They have contacted me again for this spring.
I have had great success working with and leading our pro staff team. Last year our staff attended some of our retailer’s spring parking lot sales. Coyote Bait and Tackle in San Jose, and Hi’s Tackle in San Francisco, and Mel Cotton’s Sporting Goods in San Jose, to name a few. We are again schedule to be at Coyote Bait and Tackle in March of this year. We have a good team of pro staff, (four in all) that appreciate the partnership with the companies we represent. We will continue to work hard for everyone in 2010. We look forward to being a part of the success of each company.
I wanted to also share with you I spent a better part of six months working on the Toys for the Troops Kids Charity www.toysforthetroopskids.org. This charity is structured to generate Christmas toys for the children who’s parents are in our military away from home during Christmas. I was the promotional director again for the fourth year for this charity’s bass tournament. As a board member for the Christian Bass Anglers Fellowship www.thecbaf.com this event which is scheduled for this year on November 6th 2010 at Russo’s Marina on Bethel Island, California should be a greater turn out than last year. Last year we generated over six hundred toys for the troop’s kids. We also had the best turn out in attendance than years past. I worked hard to get television coverage, Radio, and news print. I had real good success in getting donations in the form of product and money for this charity. I attended the Toys for the Troops kids’ charity banquet where I represented the CBAF two weeks ago where CBAF was recognized for their contribution to this charity.
Finally during the year I also contributed articles to the Bass Anglers Guide Magazine which is published four times a year. I was fortunate enough to be published three of the four issues in 2009. I have attached my spring article for this 2010 issue for your review. I enjoy sharing with the readers some of my experience and hope that I can teach our new anglers with the how to approach. I also take advantage of promoting the companies and their products that I have partnered with.
I would like to recommend that you visit my website www.jerryfournier.com to keep in touch with my and all that I am doing during the year. I spend a lot of money keeping it current for your review. I would also like to invite you to visit my resume which is posted on my website to keep you informed and current with what I am doing for my partners in the fishing industry.
Please contact me if you have any questions as I would be more than happy to visit with you. You can contact me at bassin@jerryfournier.com.
Have a Great 2010 and Thank you,
Jerry Fournier
