CBAF last team event will be held for the first time on the California Delta. Russo’s Marine will be hosting our June 16th event. Just like so many team tournaments events in the past, we look forward to seeing some great anglers paired up to compete on one of the nation’s top bass producing waters. Who fishes the CBAF events? Tim Dotson, a fellow member of CBAF and I went to Shasta pre fishing for our December 9th tournament. I can say that Lake Shasta and the hills all around it right now are the most beautiful hills I have ever seen. This time of year is just breath taking. Mt.Shasta has a white top and so does Mt. Lassen. The ducks and geese are in the air.

A good friend sent me some information about a toy drive. Well every year you read something about a Toy Drive all for some good cause. But the Toys for Troops really hit my Heart. I felt like I had to participate and do my share as an American, and as a father of four. I can’t imagine what my family would go through if I had died.

Wow! Coyote Bait and Tackle, Galaxie Marine, and CBAF events have kept me quite busy. I haven’t been on the water much this summer and I haven’t fished a couple of these lakes in almost three and a half years. Let’s say I was a little surprised at how different each lake has fished during these months.

It is finally here the last day of summer. I have been looking forward to getting back to tournament fishing and the tournament schedule. The summer time on the water is something I enjoy but I am very careful with all the new boaters on the water. This summer I spent another full week housing boating on Lake Oroville. Here goes a great three day weekend and I didn’t get on the water. I usually get very concerned about other boaters on this Memorial Day weekend. This year it has been a lot of Little League Baseball. My youngest son Hunter is a nut over baseball and we just played five games in the last four days.

Wow high water on the Delta takes on a new meaning. Even with a one foot tide the water was high enough to get into areas you couldn’t with a one foot tide. That gave the fish places to go that they couldn’t before.
