Last Day of Summer

It is finally here the last day of summer. I have been looking forward to getting back to tournament fishing and the tournament schedule. The summer time on the water is something I enjoy but I am very careful with all the new boaters on the water. This summer I spent another full week housing boating on Lake Oroville. I did compete in the Pro Teen event and I worked the Snag Proof open both held on the Delta. But I am not a big fan of being on the water when.. It has been a fear of mine to be on the water with all the boaters drinking and driving. Two years ago, I was slammed into a wood pile by a boat full of drinking water skiers. I had a new sponsor with me at the time. Steve Lobrovich from Prop Cover was in my boat thinking that these people should be behind bars for subjecting that little boy (shooting the pier) and us to this kind of danger. This wake board boat was full of water and was pushing a huge wake. It cost my insurance company about five thousand dollars. It damaged the side of my boat when the wake of a water ski boat went by me approximately four feet away dragging a eight to ten year old water skier through some very narrow bridge poles. I have to admit that Travis at C&C Marine in Modesto 209-613-7147 did an outstanding job of repairing my Ranger boat. I would recommend him and C&C both in Modesto and Sacramento area to anyone. Earlier in the year I got to meet Sean Alrid from Oakley. If you recall Sean won the junior Bass Masters Classic two years ago and this year took second in the junior world champion competion. Sean and I met at the Internation Sportsman Expo in San Mateo. We were both working for diffent companies and crossed paths. We talked about getting on the water together this summer and we did. First at the Pro teen event and second at the Snag Proof Open. I had a great time and day on the water with Sean. We caught a great bag of fish together. Many on Snag Proof frogs, Chatter Baits, Spinner Baits, and plastics. It was an honor to have such a champion in my boat. I also spent a few hours in the boat with Connie Fuller owner and Terry White from Snag Proof. This year I was asked to be on their Pro Staff. I take representing someone and their product very serious. Snag Proof has stood behind the Honor Bound tournament and CBAF since the very first tournament. I am proud to be apart of such a great organization. Well again kids are back in school and I am excited to be back on the water. See you soon. Give me a call if you would like to go fishing.
