Who would have thought that we would be fishing April 1st on Folsom Lake. Friday night heavy rains fell making it a record year for rain fall in this part of California. The state came to the Lake and put a five mile and hour limit on the water because of all the Debris. Non the less my friend John Harper and his guess Chad Martin took first. Friday night March 31st the rain came down so hard that many decided not to show for the Ninth Annual Honor Bound Tournament. Many showed late to the dinner but after all who signed up we had thirty three teams ready to go Saturday morning. A year of hard work getting all the sponsors and organizing the event finally came and other than the rain turned out perfect. The Christian Bass Anglers came together to share some of Gods message to those who don’t know him. Friday night we had a great meal, a great message from Pastor Steve Conrad from our host church Sunset Christian in Rocklin, California. Sunset Christian had their first experience with bass fishing and the people that love the sport so much. I would like to Thank Snag Proof,Ranger Boats, G Loomis, Gary Yamamoto, Berkley, Rodstrainer,Powell Rods, Coyote Bait and Tackle, The Fish Sniffer news paper, Hi’s Tackle, Richard Pounds, Larry Hemphill and Sunset Christian Church, to just name a few. These names and companies have been behind us most right from the start. We could not put this event on without their support. I am grateful to them all. John Harper and his guest Chad Martin fished for the first time together throwing swim baits to win the event with just under twenty pounds. Second place had over seventeen. Hunter my ten year old and I took eleventh place with over ten pounds. No one loses at one of these events pure and simple. Everyone walks away a winner in so many different ways. I want to thank all the CBAF team for allowing me to be a part of all this ministry. I hope we touched someones life. I know my life has been blessed by God and I am grateful.
